	The first arrivals to Kapuvud were not native, so unlike the southern areas of Hoven and Southern Island, football was immediately the most popular sport in the region. Before 1957, the city of Aurora was just a village of slightly under 10,000, named Avalen. High Rock over Paterie Football Club (Also known as High Rock), the first football club in Avalen, was founded in the early 1900s by Taqqiq Iqaluk, a half-Hokkish, half-Anglo businessman, who hoped to earn a quick buck. At first, it worked well to his advantage, but after the foundings of Avalen Athletic and the Plains Cricket and Football Club (PCFC), Iqaluk was forced to sell High Rock to James Aurora, the future mayor of Aurora. He changed the name to Aurora Football Club, after his family, and named his son, Buck Aurora, the manager. Buck proved to be quite knowledgeable on the strategies of football, and he lead Aurora FC to several Kapuvud Championships, including a 7-1 demolition of Avalen Athletic in the final of the 1949 edition. By 1955 they had the third greatest record in Kapuvud Championship history, behind only Østad Pillar FC and Capital FC. After a dry spot in the Kapuvud Championship where Aurora Borealis didn't win a single championship, after 45 years of hurt Aurora finally won a Kapuvud Championship once again, under the leadership of James Aurora II. the following year, they rebranded as Aurora Borealis. They would win once more in 2010, and finally in 2023, the Hawklandian Premier League was founded. The top 4 places in the final Kapuvud Championship season would be placed in the HPL for the first season. Østad Capital United and Østad Pillar FC breezed to first and second, and Four-Star Østad took third after defeating Aurora Together Strong (~~Aka~~ Avalen Athletic) in the second to last matchday. In the final matchday, Østad Saint Mary and Aurora Borealis, who were both tied for fourth place, would play each other in Østad. In the 59th minute, Østad Saint Mary would strike first, but Aurora would score two goals in stoppage time to narrowly win the match and come fourth. 	Aurora are very experimental with their kits, but they always use light green and violet. In the early stages of Aurora FC, they used red as their main character but after their first Kapuvud Championship they used green as they believed red looked too negative. They then added purple in 1990 to balance out the kits. Right before the HPL, they redesigned their badge which still contained the color red after all that time.
