Broughty Ferry were founded in 2015 after the New Angus Football Association was formed. They are a merger club bewteen two youth sides that existed in Scotland prior to New Angusian independence, Ferry Athletic and Broughty United.

The club competed in the New Angus regional leagues from 2015 until 2019 where they gained promotion to the National League. They then won the National League in 2019-20, beating [[Douglas FC]] over two legs to play the 8th placed side in the [[2019-20 Challenge League]], [[Lochee FC]] for a place in next season's Challenge League, they won the tie and gained promotion. The club gained promotion to the top flight in [[2021-22 New Angus Challenge League|2021-22]] as champions of the Challenge League, they also secured their first national trophy in [[2022-23 New Angus League Cup|2022-23]] as they secured the League Cup.

They are managed by Chris Duncan.
