The Abanhfleft men's national football team (Fleftic: Pambansang koponang pangkalalakihan ng Abanhfleft) represents Abanhfleft in men's international football. The team is controlled by the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft (English: Football Association of Abanhfleft) and has been a member of NSWC since Baptism of Fire 57 and an IAC member since IAC 1. The team enjoyed moderate success in the 70s cycles, qualifying to the World Cup on four separate occasions. However, the team has never gone beyond the group stage in all four appearances at the World Cup.

History

The first official Abanhfleft national football team was formed in 1932, two years after the establishment of the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft. It was made up entirely of players from Effelenendro Football Club, the champions of the Liga ng Abanhfleft Unang Liga that season. They played a friendly match against a team from the Sultanate of Oontaz to celebrate the visit of Sultan Abdul-Malik of Oontaz to Abanhfleft. Over the next 80 years, due to Abanhfleft's isolationist policies Abanhfleft played exclusively with only three other nations: the Sultanate of Oontaz, Copper Cuprum, and Pridnestrovia.

In 2013, President Makhdoum Be formally ended the country's policy of isolationism, paving the way for Abanhfleft's membership in the NSWC. Delegates from the SFA visited Apox and The Holy Empire during World Cup 69 to observe the proper protocols for NSWC members. According to t was these observations which led to the formation of a mixed gender team in time for their entry into Baptism of Fire 57. Seven out of the 23 players selected for the Baptism of Fire team came from the men's team, including captain Luke Edwards. The team performed well, sweeping their group and advancing to the quarterfinals before getting knocked out by Isula ge Ru. Abanhfleft then took part in the qualifiers for World Cup 70, and while they didn't qualify for the World Cup itself, the team secured a historic 2-0 victory over The Holy Empire.

World Cup 71: Return to separate teams for genders

In preparation for World Cup 71, the SFA made the decision to once again split the national team into separate teams for men and women, a decision that became controversial in some parts of the multiverse. Another controversial decision was the one to send out both teams to qualify for the World Cup on alternating cycles, with the men's team participating in the odd-numbered World Cup cycles.

The men's team took part in the qualifiers for World Cup 71 with high hopes of mounting a good campaign to challenge for a spot in the World Cup. Unfortunately, this would not come to pass, and the team would tally their biggest losses in their history in this qualifying cycle with 5-0 and 8-3 losses, both against Turori away and at home. Despite what many pundits in the country called "a shoddy performance", Abanhfleft received an invite to Cup of Harmony 63, but things only went from bad to worse. Abanhfleft crashed out of the 63rd Cup of Harmony bottom of their group with three losses, the nation's worst record in the competition.
