The Frestovenia national football team (Frestovenian: Frestovenia herrelandslag i fotball) represents Frestovenia in men's international football and is controlled by the Frestovenian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Frestovenia. Frestovenia's home ground is the Asvard Stadion located in the capital Asvard and their head coach is Alrik Valatanen. The team made its international debut in the qualification for the World Cup 87. Frestovenia has not yet qualified for a World Cup.

History

Frestovenia played its first international match in preparation for the World Cup 87 qualification at home in a friendly match against Lorrana. The game ended in a 1–1 draw, Gunter Palrikken scored the first goal for the national team.

World Cup 87 qualification

The newly appointed head coach Alrik Valatanen was facing a difficult task, his inexperienced team was drawn in a group with heavyweights Valanora, Kelssek, Darmen and the rising team of Squidroidia. Frestovenia opened their qualifying campaign with two wins over the low-ranked sides of the Tornado Queendom and Icecliff. The match against Icecliff at home was won by an 8–2 scoreline, making it the highest-scoring game in the group and the largest win for the national team. After a successful start, the Frestovenians disappointed with a run of five defeats in a row only managed to win 4–1 against Jabal Akhdar and were ranked eighth out of ten after nine games. The second half of the qualification showed a big contrast compared to the first half. Frestovenia surprised with a 2–0 win over Barunia and a 2–1 win over Squidroidia at home, also the win over Wreckeria was included in the series of unforeseeable results. The team of head coach Alrik Valatanen finished in fifth place with 27 points.
