Sel Appa national ice hockey team

The Sel Appa national ice hockey team (French: L'équipe du Sel Appa de hockey sur glace) have represented Sel Appa in international ice hockey competitions since World Cup of Hockey 18.

History

First era

The team first played in Cups 18, 21, and 23, never advancing past the group stage. During Cup 18, goaltender Odkhuu Galbaatar registered five clean sheets in ten games (two wins and three draws) the best of the goaltenders of the tournament, with a 0.6 GAA. During Cup 21, the team missed out on advancement by one point with a 5-1-4 record.

Second era

The team is expected to make its return for Cup 57.

Home arena

Sel Appa's national arena is the TurtleDome, also known as Carapace Place. Turtle Stadium is also the home of the Nemnen Turtles, and is the largest in Sel Appa with a capacity is 25,000 for ice hockey games.

Coaches

Jan Hrynyk served as coach from Cups 18 to 23, assisted by Jason Marks, who coached during Cup 21 for six games while Hrynyk recovered from illness.
