The 68th edition of the Baptism of Fire was a football tournament hosted by Farfadillis and Semarland prior to World Cup 81. The competition was open to every unranked team as of the World Cup 81 cycle. Cobrio won the tournament in Ferdullaele but fell short of qualifying for the World Cup finals.

Format

Teams played each other team in their group in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group, plus the four third-placed teams with the best record, advanced to the round of 32, and the tournament continued from there in a single-elimination bracket.

Group standings were determined in the following order of precedence:

1. Points
2. Head-to-head record
3. Overall goal differential
4. Coin flip
   in reality, this was a judgement based on the quality of roleplay by the controlling user

In the single-elimination stage, matches were decided by extra time if scores were level after ninety minutes, and penalty shoot-out if necessary after that.
