Saint-Rémy is the second-largest city in the Kelssek province of Beaulac. It is also the centre of Grand-Saint-Rémy, Kelssek's fifth-largest metropolitan area with a population over 5.3 million including the cities of Saint-Cloud, Lévis-de-Bains, and Bourgiane. It was traditionally the capital of the ancient kingdom of Chècidre, later a duchy vassal to the Paulanice principate in the medieveal era. Located on the river Suter, Saint-Rémy occupies a strategic point at the Grospieux Rapids and grew from an ancient fort built to protect and control the river traffic at Pointe-Sacré-Coeur. This fort was repeatedly destroyed but 250-year old Chateâu Bonsecaselle is the most recent iteration, and today is a museum detailing the city's role in the War of the Crowns.

St-Rémy is a major centre for aerospace, auto manufacturing, video games production, and telecommunications. Intersat, one of Kelssek's largest telecoms companies, is headquartered in the city. Among the city's landmarks are the Vieux-Remigius district, the oldest part of the city which is recognized as a Kelssek Heritage Site, which is the location of the Capitole de Saint-Rémy, constructed in 304 BFE as the municipal palace for one of the first free cities granted self-government by the Guedian Crown.

The Bas-Saint-Louis district. The city is home to two major research universities, the Université du Beaulac à Saint-Rémy (UBSR) and the engineering and technology focused Polytechnique de Saint-Rémy.

Saint-Rémy is a sister city of Cité-Belle, Ariddia.
