Mavinet, officially the People's State of Mavinet (Viet: Quốc gia Nhân dân Mã Việt), is a sovereign state in Rushmore, situated in the south of the Terramidia landmass. It shares land border with Cassadaigua to the east and faces Nam Duong Sea to the west and south. Home to more than 83 million people, the nation is divided into 1 capital region, 2 municipalities and 19 provinces. The country's capital and largest city is Đại Hòa, which also serves as the country's primary cultural and commercial center.

Early Mavineses came to inhabit the delta of the Mã River in the southern tip of Rushmore's Terramidia more than 2000 years ago. Refugees from an agricultural civilization, Mavineses brought their lifestyle along with them to the new world and formed many rice-farming settlements along the river. During the pre-dynastic period, several influential Mavinese clans held power over settlements, setting up their governing structure independently from each other. As the population increased and clans expanded their territories, a complex system of conflicts and alliances formed. The first united political entity of the Mavinese civilization was the Lạc Tiên Confederacy, a confederation of 3 most powerful clans (Trần, Lê and Mạc) formed around 98 TTN (Tiền Thống Nhất - Pre-Unification). Trần Trung Đức, head of the Trần clan, following a successful campaign to subjugate the last independent clan outside of the confederacy, forced the other 2 clans to acknowledge his position as the supreme ruler of all Mavinese lands. That year was later made the 1st year of the nation (1 QG - Quốc Gia). Mavinet's dynastic period saw successive dynasties ruling the country and expand Mavinese territory toward the northern mountains and eastern lands. The dynasties were interupted several times by civil wars and rebellions. The last Mavinese dynasty, the Trịnh, ended in 1887 when a coalition of nationalist organizations won the Revolution War against imperial forces and forced the last emperor to abdicate. Mavinet was proclaimed a republic by the revolutionaries and the Constitution was officially adopted in 1888.

Modern Mavinet is a unitary parliamentary republic with a strong democratic tradition going back to the foundation of the republic in 1887. Possessing a strong agriculture sector and a developed industrial base, Mavinet has a high economic growth rate. Although less powerful than many Rushmori states, Mavinet still maintains an efficient and balanced economy. Mavinet developed a subsidized education system, and its citizens enjoy universal healthcare of good standards. Despite the high standards of living, Mavinet is experiencing increasing income inequality and overpopulation in major urban areas.

Geography

Mavinet is located at the southern end of the Terramidia landmass, covering an area of approximately 362,936 km2. Mavinet's terrain varies from one end of the country to another, with almost half of the land covered by mountains and highlands, while plains and river deltas make up the rest of the land. The northern region features very mountainous and forested terrain around the Thái Sơn range, of which the highest mountain in Mavinet - Mt. Cả - is a part. The Lưỡng Hà Plain is a vast expanse of flat, extremely arable land in-between the two big rivers, Mã River and Phúc River, making it one of the most suitable areas in the peninsula for agriculture. The eastern region is divided into the river lowlands and hilly far east where the major deposits of ores are found. The Thanh Thủy Bay on the southern coast is the largest bay in the country. Most major urban areas are concentrated in the western and southern regions.
