The Handball World Cup (HWC) is the international championship for the sport of team handball. It has been organised for past twenty-four editions.

After most of its history organised under disorganised, infrequent nature of tournaments established by a democracy of participating nations over the years, it is currently organised by a loose body of nations organising domestic and international handball named World Handball (WH). In a joint body organised in coordination between national federations of Bollonich (HWC organisation), Quebec and Shingoryeo (WCHC and domestics), and Sylestone (HWC operations and international cooperation), World Handball is the overseeing body of the participating nations' governing bodies and their participation in both the HWC and the World Club Handball Championships (WCHC).
