A World Cup cycle is defined as the time from the beginning of the Baptism of Fire associated with a World Cup, until the final of that World Cup, or the final of the Cup of Harmony associated with that World Cup, whichever is later. For example, World Cup cycle 49 encompasses the entirety of Baptism of Fire 36, Cup of Harmony 41, and World Cup 49 (including qualifying).

World Cup cycles are useful measure of time in the NS Sport multiverse, as they are not dependent on any individual nation's calendar.
