The World Cup Hall of Fame is for Players, Coaches, Referees, Commentators, Mascots and 'Other' Characters who have made a memorable impact in the history of the NationStates World Cup.

There are three ways to earn nominations to the NS World Cup Hall of Fame.

World Cup Qualifying: For every 7 World Cup Qualifying Campaigns participated in, 1 place is earned
World Cup Finals: For every 4 appearances in the World Cup Proper, 1 place is earned
For every World Cup Championship, 1 place is earned

Trevor Richmond (Manager)--guided the National Team to qualification for World Cup 80, on the nation's first attempt; also led the squad to the World Cup Finals in cycle 81 & 82. before stepping aside as the winningest NT boss in history (49 victories in 95 matches)
Pamela Scott (Manager)--took over for Richmond after WC 82 and led the side to qualification for World Cup 83, continuing on through Baker Park's co-hosting of World Cup 84. Also managed the NT to a runner-up spot in Baptism of Fire 67, the BPNT's first ever WCC tournament. Won 61 of 99 matches in the mixed gender era, placing her first in both categories.
Jamari Bozeman (Player)--scored 58 times in 118 appearances during the mixed gender era, establishing the record for both categories (although he was later surpassed by Annabeth Westmoreland for most appearances with her 121st cap). Dynamic attacking midfielder who passed up opportunities to move abroad, remaining at Southend AC for his entire career.
Annabeth Westmoreland (Player)--All time leader in appearances for the National Team (121), first player from Baker Park named to the Galactico Long and Short List, was most expensive overseas transfer in BP history with $CBP9.5 million move from Middletown City Women to Valanora's Hondo FC.

One of the Baptism of Fire squad as a young winger, Spitfire was one of the first Brenecians to make a name for herself further abroad than Nephara; specifically, in Apox. A clever, rangy winger who truly elevated what was at the time a fairly agricultural team.

Orson Faulkner Inducted Cycle 76

Rightback/centre-half. 126 caps, 7 goals. Northern Union, AC Izotz Zubia.

A muscular, bruising defender, a slightly late bloomer, and a lion-hearted captain with a knack for only scoring at the time of most need that made him a legendary figure at Zozi. Faulkner was part of the first actually successful generation of Brenecian players, and earned international acclaim for his performances under pressure.

Catherine Purrington Inducted Cycle 78

Attacking midfielder. 157 caps, 50 goals. Francisca Orient, Wye United, Vermillion Rage.

Short, overweight, lazy, exclusively one-footed. Unambitious in her club career. Had a fling with Nephara international Catheline Stockinger. None of this mattered when she was on the pitch and the ball was at her feet, and with a single languid sweep of her chunky left leg she could take it wherever she needed it to go, including the top corner of the net.

Ursula Rankin Inducted Cycle 80

Striker. 119 caps, 67 goals. FC Endeavour, Wye United, Tanrisal, RGS Athletic.

Something of a journeywoman striker, Rankin never developed more strings to her bow than just being a poacher and never felt like she needed to. Brenecia's all-time leading goalscorer, the numbers backed her up. When Brenecia played free-flowing Southern football, her runs opened up gaps in defences; when playing the brutalist Northern style, she made the most of scraps.

Catherine Gryphon Inducted Cycle 81

Defensive midfielder. 162 caps, 4 goals. Southern Star, FC Brimstone, Northern Union, Starling, Cornellians, Exton FC.

Never an exciting or dynamic player, but Gryphon reached the top in three different foreign countries, and captained Brenecia to what will likely be its only World Cup. A master of set pieces, but most of her work was just doing the simple things with perfect execution every time.

Val Kylx (A human running gag after leaving Slembana towards international football stardom. Got pretty much nothing of it for a long while until a freak accident saw him end up without a leg: he moved to a managerial career and actually was responsible for getting the Northern Sunrise Islands into the World Cup. One of the few cases of a person inducted by another country but not his own homeland.)
Namine Nagatomo (Street football product, Namine Nagatomo moved to professional football and soon became a star of Sunrisian football. While not a World Cup champion, her efforts were deemed essential towards the identity of Sunrisian football, and by proxy Hinodejin Football.)
Hannah Alcouin (The key player on the Unified Sunrisian line-up that won the World Cup back-to-back, known for her amazing offensive play. A half-pokémon, she owned one of the finest World Champion pedigrees possible, including two Under-15 World Cup victories and a very respectable run in the Under-21s.)
Mellody Sioux (A cat-person goalkeeper that served as the number one option for the position in many Sunrisian line-ups. Her style of goalkeeping has been since adopted by Hinodejin players with questionable success.)
Nikolai Thorben (The father of Hinodejin football as we know it, responsible for several key additions that turned the game into what it is today in the prosperous empire. He also had a career playing for the Matthew City Senators and the Chromatik national football team and became a household name in the Hinodejin Empire during the off-time where the nation was locked away from the rest of the multiverse.)
Pokécards (Largely inspired by the PISballs, these were all the rage for a couple of cups but also served as the Sunrisians' second-best contribution to the sport as a whole.)
Anthony Hawk (Former left-back that also missed the World Cup victories but turned out to become a regular name in the Hinodejin Empire as it rejoined the multiverse, serving as a host of the highly influential Anthony Hawk's Project 8. Also was the butt of several in-jokes.)
The Diamond Club (The name for the group of masked or unidentified Hinodejin players that served the revived Northern Sunrisian national team before the Hinodejin Empire fully unveiled itself. It featured several high-level officials of the Empire and a former Queen.)

Was never among the most talented of the Baptism of Fire squad. However, as a one-club woman and captain of club and country, Stokes' loyalty and resolute determination meant she squeezed out every inch of her skill for the Cormorants for years.

Michael Brandon Inducted Cycle 71

Defensive midfielder. 134 caps, 6 goals. Directus.

Left Nephara at 20 to join Directus, quickly slotting into the first-team picture of one of the multiverse's top sides and spending his entire senior career there. An exceptional midfield general who truly transformed Nephara's image on the international stage from a thuggish backwater to an emergent footballing power.

Hadrian Belfast Inducted Cycle 74

Centre-half. 172 caps, 11 goals. Chenoworth Harriers, Sabrefell Athletic, Dwile Warriors, Brookford Otters.

Still likely Nephara's greatest player. At one stage, he was named Player of the Season in the ANL - at the time the world's best - as the centre-half of the flamboyant attack-minded Dwile Warriors. Played in Nephara's first World Cup finals, aged 23; lifted the CE in his final game, aged 35.

Gethin Ramsey Inducted Cycle 75

Managed Nephara through Cycles 64-67. AFC Treason, Cosumar, the Licentian Isles.

A hard-bitten manager whose insatiable lust for trophies set the tone for Nepharim glory, heading an almost dizzying early period of success for a 'new' national team. Managed the likely unparalleled feat of taking three nations - Nephara, Cosumar and the Licentian Isles - to the World Cup.

Elaine Ashdown Inducted Cycle 77

Central midfielder. 155 caps, 50 goals. Iron City, Brinemouth, Hastmead Diamante, Iron City.

A tall, elegant and cultured midfielder, Ashdown was another player who never fit the stereotypical Nepharim mould. Notoriously slow, but the ball, after all, was round, and especially lethal from set pieces. Ashdown was a true marshal of the midfield, who captained Nephara to the World Cup with understated leadership.

Penumbra Amokachi Inducted Cycle 80

Striker. 116 caps, 65 goals. Brinemouth, Mâ Âlâmëómë, Eastweald, Coret Hawks.

Top scorer and self-styled philosopher queen of the 74 champions, the mercurial Amokachi was Nephara's leading goalscorer at the time of her international retirement being curtailed by a falling-out with management. Somehow, this only improved her image as Nephara's spectacular Roman candle.

Adnan Szalai Inducted Cycle 84

Right winger. 129 caps, 40 goals. Aries Chariots, Gwinevra Barbarians, Ulsa.

Szalai came from the very dregs to shine. Widely rumoured to be illiterate, he was Nephara's best player en route to the World Cup, and that only propelled his career forward to greater and greater heights. Szalai has the distinction of being named the first Boldsport Galactico, the best player in the world in the eyes of a neutral third-party agency.

Estrella Hawke Inducted Cycle 84

Striker. 150 caps, 91 goals. Starling, Sabrefell Athletic, Directus.

Athletic, powerful, lethal in front of goal, and nobody in the game has a single bad word to say about her. Hawke's goalscoring record for the national team will probably never be beaten. Spent an all-conquering career on top of both the international scene and club football in Nephara and Eura.

Striker/Right Wing. 121 caps, 71 goals. World Cups 68-77. Alianza FC, Port Sebastian.

A Wanderer who eventually found peace with Alianza FC and Port Sebastian, Leonardo Conavacio was a dynamic forward whose values as player only got higher over time. Excellent dribbler with flair, aggressiveness and remarkable ceremonies, Conavacio was one player who consistently frustrated opponents and fans alike, and his ability to score in crucial matches, most notably the penalty goal that propelled the Grim Reapers to their only semifinals appearance in his final World Cup, gave him a higher profile than one his role with both Alianza and the Grim Reapers - that being a second striker - would have gotten. Always a hard worker whose controversies (biting incidents on Liga-Premier matches, repeatedly calling for death of Gary Corsie at times, etc) shadowed his work ethic, he went onto have a good career as manager, currently managing Eterna Stars and the HUElavian national team after long stints with Manechester City (associate manager) and Haligonian.

Zachary Fortin - Inducted Cycle 76

Striker. 150 caps, 101 goals. World Cups 65-75. Montreal Koreana, Marinos Metropolis.

Remarkably well-paced, with immaculate scoring touch and humble attitude, Zachary Fortin was the player whose all-aroundedness and goalscoring record earned the respect of everybody and continues to draw unanimous approval as the greatest Quebecois footballer to have ever played. Barring improvements of the Quebecois national team's forms, which would give Kate Huitema-Omeasoo or Zinaida Woodcarver a genuine chance, it is unlikely his goalscoring record will break. Superstar who led Marinos Metropolis to back-to-back Champions' Cup and Cup Winners' Cup victories, a feat that has not been achieved by a Quebecois player either.

Sir. Lionel Mah - Inducted Cycle 88

Manager. World Cups 76-80, 85-86. CSKA Quebec, Schottian national team, Willox Street Pirates, Quebecois national team.

A hard-nosed manager with tactical acumen and no-nonsense approach towards players, Sir. Lionel's excellence was recognised both at home and abroad, and on both domestic and international football. Managed the Schottian national team that was stuck in a limbo to a remarkable decade under his direction, with 2nd place in the Cup of Harmony 68, Quarterfinals and 3rd place finish in the World Cups 77 and 78, before winning it all with Schottia in the World Cup 79, recognised by many as one of the most dominant sides of all time. After his stints with CSKA and Willox Street Pirates, he then returned to international football, where he brought his native Quebec to qualify for the World Cup 86 at 72 years of age.

Hazel van Robben - Inducted Cycle 85

Striker/Right Wing. 112 caps, 51 goals. World Cups 69-77, 85. St. John's Arsenal, Magnaeus City, CD FAS, 1830 Cathair.

Probably the most electric footballer Quebec and Shingoryeo's ever had, with the iconic status of the player that came with her speed, goal ceremonies, potty mouth. Multi-time golden boot winner in the LigAnaia: Nord and Liga-Premier whose goalscoring talent stayed into all her career, she was happy to play on the right wing, where her speed and crosses came particularly valuable for the Grim Reapers. IFCF's inaugural Champions' League victor with 1830 Cathair, where she played for a dozen years, before playing the last two years of her career with hometown St. John's Arsenal. Stayed low-profile since retirement, goes back and forth between Audioslavia and Quebec as a cannabis business executive.

Karl Varsteeg - Inducted Cycle 76

Left Back. 136 caps, 10 goals. World Cups 67-75. Avenida Principal.

Among the six Quebecois inductees to the Hall of Fame, Karl Varsteeg's probably the least known name out of all of them. Never a flashy figure, which makes sense given the nature of the Quebecois team, Varsteeg's made name for himself with his defensive consistency, height advantage and never leaving the defensive third of the zone. Globe Cup champions with Avenida Principal, where he stayed for most of his career.

First slot [WCQs 89-95]: Liam West: Who else? West not only captained the national team from Baptism of Fire 76 (coincident with WC89) up until his retirement after the 85th Cup of Harmony (coincident with WC93), but played in every single one of those games. Even today, West remains something of a model for aspiring Eleanorian centrebacks, if not footballers in general: mild-mannered, slightly dovish, mentally and physically capable... and always with one eye on non-sporting pursuits.
Although brought up in the eastern city - born in Newbanks and raised in Carpentersville - West was always loyal to Independence 1975, Central district's club and - in its heyday - one of the greatest ever Eleanorian club sides. To some controversy, he was somewhat more vocal in their press conferences than in the national team's, where he largely handed off press duty to Bridget Coombe - his successor as captain - or one of the other regular starters.
West wrote a regular column for SESB about his team's progress while he was captain, but has long foresworn journalism and is now the duty manager of a corner shop back in Carpentersville, where he lives with his wife Cecilia. 15 Darlington Street, his old house in Central, is now being leased by SEFA to assistant manager Reniira Clevinger.

Super-Llamaland

Trevor Duncan (played WCQ62-WC68, managed WCQ75) - One of Super-Llamaland's first great players, the dynamic attacking-midfielder put Super-Llamaland on the map with his well-rounded game. Saw out a great career by helping clinch the Tigers' first-ever World Cup qualification before retiring and briefly serving as national team manager.

Alex Cartwright (played WCQ68-WC74) - A dominant midfielder-turned-striker who in his heyday was one of the best in Esportiva at scoring goals. His career began with the Tigers' first qualification and ended with a triumphant return to the World Cup after a two-cycle drought. Also had a fruitful career with Quebec's Kingston FC in LigAnaia.

Adrian Lindberg (played WCQ74-WCQ80) - Fearless defender and Llamanean captain, as well as a Champion's Cup winner with Real Azuris, Lindberg's leadership, composure, and skill made him a mainstay in Llamanean football for over a decade.

First slot [WCQs 77-83]: Priscilla Evans: A Tinhampton City season ticket holder who won the draw to appear in Tinhampton's first ever World Cup team, Evans was never the captain - that accolade going first to the erstwhile Ian Jones then to the slightly less-than-erstwhile Julia Atherton - but she was certainly their most famous player; an agile, understated, stunningly efficient, and mostly eminently reasonable striker.
A free agent until Tinhampton's win at the 73rd Cup of Harmony (coincident with WC81), in which her greatest role was scoring the winning goal in their quarterfinal, she secured a move to Crystal Fair HC of the United League on a free transfer, where she remained long after the financial collapse of Tinhampton's FA.
After retiring from club football, Evans became the manager of Saint Eleanor, a former Tinhamptonian colony. She spent six-and-a-half cycles on deployment with the White Stars, leading them to the 91st and 94th World Cup final tournaments as well as the 84th Cup of Harmony title (coincident with WC92), before being forced out after the 95th qualifiers following a massive player revolt.
