History

New Angus has played host to football for many years, even prior to the nation's independence from Scotland in 2017. Unofficial New Angus sides have participated under "Angus", "Tayside" or "North Eastern Scotland" names for decades. The first match in which New Angus was used was an international friendly between New Angus and Shetland, which ended 6-0 to Shetland.

Since New Angusian independence, they have played a handful of matches - in recent times, since joining the DSAFF, New Angus has participated in 3 officially sanctioned matches. Their opening match in the DSAFF was against Montecrux, a match in which they drew 1-1. Their best result came in April 2024, when they beat 1st Ranked side Lannistter at home in only their second match in the DSAFF. This was followed up by a loss to Yucatan.

New Angus faced Cat Army in a friendly in May 2024 - winning 3-1 which remains the best result for the nation as of July 2024. They were then confirmed to be participating in the 2024 DSAFF Comrades Cup, their debut in official competition, scheduled warm up games were announced against The Washington Federation and Thonburi. New Angus drew with The Washington Federation and lost to Thonburi.

2024 DSAFF Comrades Cup

New Angus were drawn in to Group H with Cat Army, UEC and Fuschor. Considered rank outsiders for the tournament - the team harboured hope they could progress beyond the group stages into the knockouts.

New Angus's opening tie was against Cat Army - winning 2-1 to delight the fans and give hope for qualification. The next match was against UEC, New Angus shocked the predictions as they won 1-0 - securing progression to the knockouts and ensuring UEC didn't qualify.

In the final group game New Angus faced Fuschor, the match ended 0-0 with Fuschor going down to 9 men after two red cards, one for an elbow which ruled John Paton out of the tournament with a fractured cheekbone and another for a stamp on Danny Fearns.

New Angus crashed out at the Round of 16 with a humbling defeat to Hortizo, losing 6-2.

2024 DSAFF Frost Cup

New Angus were drawn into Group H for the 2024 Frost Cup. In the build up to the tournament, head coach Stuart Cairns was sacked and replaced with Darren McCulloch.

New Angus are due to face Hortizo in a friendly match before the beginning of the tournament.

They will face Lannistter, Itini and Al-Hasamila at the tournament.

Stadium

New Angus's home stadium is the Dùn Dè National Stadium in Dùn Dè. It has a capacity of 54,000 and was built in 2022. The national team also sometimes plays at Stewart Park, Whitton Park or Glebe Park (home of Dundee Athletic, Broughty Ferry and Brechin respectively).
