The Vilita puppet incident, known also as Vilitagate and the Vuppet scandal, among other names, was an incident where a NationStates player, whose main nation was Vilita, manipulated several NationStates accounts under their control in order to gain an advantage in several sports competitions on NationStates, including the World Cup.

Ban from Esportiva
The Licentian Isles, delegate of Esportiva, promptly announced that the player behind Vilita was banned from possessing or entering any puppet nation into the region of Esportiva. They also requested additional help identifying puppets on the forums, but was informed by moderation that such an action must be done gameside.
Formation of Arrosia
As a result of the actions by the player behind Vilita, most nations in the region of Atlantian Oceania, founded by the player, broke away from the region to form the region of Arrosia.
Nations located in Atlantian Oceania, or independent countries who had participated in the most recent Independent Assocations Cup, that relocated to Arrosia, were eligible to participate in the first edition of the Arrosian Regional Championship not long after the region was created.
