The IFCF Rising Stars Cup (RSC) is the world championship for club football organized by the International Federation of Club Football. In its current format, it is contested by the youth teams of the clubs competing in the Champions League group stage, plus the domestic youth champions of national associations. All players must be 19 years old or younger as of the last day of the calendar year in which the tournament is held.
The Rising Stars Cup was conceived as a successor competition to the UICAYouth Cup and adopted its competition rules and format. The most successful team is Nephara's AFC Treason, which won its second Rising Stars Cup in the 6th cycle.
Format
The competition is split into two entry paths:
Champions League path: The youth teams of the 32 clubs which qualify for the IFCF Champions League group stage enter the IFCF Champions League Path.
Domestic Champions Path: The youth domestic champions of the associations with a youth competition enter the Domestic Champions Path.
The Champions League path parallels the group stage of that season's Champions League, with the group winners advancing to the round of 16 and the runners-up advancing to the play-offs. The youth domestic champions play rounds of two-legged ties, with the eight winners advancing to the play-offs, where they play a single match at home against the Champions League path runners-up. The round of 16 onwards has single-leg ties, with the semi-finals and final played at neutral venues.
There is no extra time as a tie-breaking rule in this competition. Knockout round ties that are tied on aggregate after the second leg, or after normal time if the winner is decided by a single match, proceed straight to kicks from the penalty mark.
