Smyrnaphos Cinema Festival
The Smyrnaphos Cinema Festival is the national film award/festival of Tylastrona. The nominations are made, and then selected by a group of TACT (Tylastronian Association of Cinema and Theatre), Ministry of Apollo (Culture) and independent jurors. The awards are often delivered by TACT members, from directors to actors. There's a film showing at the evening before the awards. It was firstly held in 1967, late single-party period, under the government frames. After the 1970 revolution, the categories expanded.
Ceremony
The ceremony takes place in late November (Maimaktēriṓn). During each annual ceremony, TACT pauses in memoriam to pay tribute to those in the industry who have died over the past 12 months, showcasing a montage of images accompanied by music. The High Priestess attends the ceremony since 1971 and the office holder as delivered two prizes: Best Film since 1971 and Best International Film since 1974. The Tylastronian National Broadcast (on TNB 2) broadcasts the ceremony freely.
