The Ristiland National Football Team (In Ristish: Ristiland Herrelandslag Fotball) represents the Confederacy Of RistiLand in international football. It is managed by the Ristiland Fotballforbundet (RFF) the governing body for football in Ristiland. Their current manager Is ... The Federation has been a part of the DSAFF since December 8,2022. Ristiland´s home stadium is the Elsburg Stadium,on the nations capital of the same name.

History

Origins (1900s-1930s)

Football in Ristiland has been played since a long time ago, dating up to the late 1890s. With the team S.K Bergnan from the urban zones of Bergnamio being considered "The First Great" at the time, having winning the First Ristin-Kupp In 1897. Its reigning didnt last long, though, being already overshadowed by uprising teams like Spartizanioslai,Bergnamio Stars,Asparatinaikos and such.

This was the Amateur Era,however,Professionalism wouldnt start until 1924, when the Ristiland Fotballforbundet was founded after the legendary run of Nikolo Ediktras skyrocketed the hype for football at the time. Having won 11 out of 15 Ristin-Kupps from 1914 up to 1928 (1914-19,1924-28) with Zanislag. But the idea of a league didnt quite stick at the time, having a short league that only lasted from 1924 up to 1930. It had to wait 20 more years to see a real league start

The Triggers For A League (1930-1950)

Birth Of A Derby (1930s)

While Ristiland kept playing the National Cup rather than starting a league, these times saw the start of the first Derby in Ristiland: Suuren Risteys.

Both Harastov F.F and Kalioslai F.F are teams from neighbouring cities in the grand industrialized part of the country, and both these teams started winning trophies at the same time (Kalioslai: 1931,34,36,38,39. Harastov: 1930,32,33,35,37) This New-Formed Rivalry was at its peak when a sorrowful event in Ristilands history happened that, sadly, had also an impact on this beautiful sport.

Çokyönlü Qirrali Regime (1941-1949)

Çokyönlü Kop Qirrali was a Ristish General born in Aspara,Tinaika. Without entering too much detail in his ideas, his mandate nor his history. One of his ways to deviate the attention of the people, was via manipulating matches, results and or referees to make Asparatinaikos win the National Cup from 1941 up to 1949.

Ristin Maa Liiga (1950-1984)

1950 Is when the first accepted by RFF League starts, the selection of Clubs starting in 1st Division and 2 Division was chosen via The Ristin-Kupps Up To 1940:

Starting In 1st Starting In 2nd
1 Spartizanioslai Asparatinaikos
2 Harastov F.F Stad Noregott
3 Bergnamio Stars Sparta Titania
4 Kalioslai F.F A.C Noregott
5 Zanislag Tzar Ruseburg
6 Standard Volland SK Kola

The 6 Teams with most Ristin-Kupps got Auto-ascended to 1st Division,Asparatinaikos was supposed to get the sixth place that Standard Volland got, but,as punishment for the 9 rigged Cups,Asparatinaikos got expelled from participating in the Ristin-Liiga for atleast 30 Years (1980), so,even if Asparatinaikos Tops the 2nd Division, the team in 2nd Place will ascend instead, thats how the First 1950 Ristin-Liiga Started.

Standard Volland, that was chosen at random as a slightly newly founded humble team in 1937,ended up winning 6 out of the first 10 Ristin-Liigas. (1950,51,52,54,55,56). The First Descended team was Zanislag, that already by the 30s wasnt on their best moment, and the first ascended was Stad Noregott, that didnt even need the 2nd Place rule, because they topped the 2nd division with ease. These are the first 10 Ristin-Liiga Winners:

Year Team MP Pts.
1950 Standard Volland 10 39/40
1951 Standard Volland 10 31/40
1952 Standard Volland 10 30/40
1953 Stad Noregott 10 37/40
1954 Standard Volland 10
1955 Standard Volland 10
1956 Standard Volland 10
1957 Harastov F.F 10
1958 Kalioslai F.F 10
1959 Bergnamio Stars 10

For the first league, the tournament was played on a Quad Round-Robin Style Tournament. Though, RFF decided to have 1 team from 1st Division Descend And 3 From 2nd Ascend,as an 8-Team Tournament was thought to be a better fit. For the 1951 Edition then, Kalioslai F.F Surprisingly Ended Up Descending, Whilst Sparta Titania, A.C Noregott And Tzar Ruseburg Ended Up Ascending To 1st. 4 Teams,Cardinenses,FK Metallurgiska Facket,F.F Fallia And Dynamo Borsk,Were Accepted In 2nd Division This Year To Equalize 1st and 2nd Division Teams.

RML 8-Team Round Robin Format (1952-1953)
Ristin Maa Liiga 1952 Placements
Place 1st Division 2nd Division Fighting For
1 Standard Volland Kalioslai F.F Winner/Ascend
2 Stad Noregott Asparatinaikos QF/
3 Spartizanioslai SK Kola QF/
4 Bergnamio Stars Cardinenses QF/
5 Harastov F.F Zanislag
6 Sparta Titania F.F Fallia
7 A.C Noregott FK M.F.
8 Tzar Ruseburg Dynamo Borsk Descend/

The Problem With This New Format Was The Reduction Of Total Matches Played From 60 To 56 And The Reduction From 20 Rounds To 14 Rounds,This Problem Was Fixed By Doing The 4 Best Placed By The End Of The 20 Rounds Play Against Each Other Twice Again,Making Up For 12 More Matches And 6 More Rounds At The End.
