Athletic Club Rumiatzi (Astograthian: Kirrolklub Rumiatzi [ˈkirolklub ruˈmjat͡s̪i]) is a professional football club based in Rumiatzi, Astograth.
Athletic Club Rumiatzi were founded as the Workers' Athletic Club on 4 June (12 Euritsu) 505 by members of the First Centralised, the Duchy of Rumiatzi's then-largest trade union, as a leisure and recreation centre for the city's working class. The club organised a football branch from its beginnings, and in 509 played a key role in organising the inaugural season of the Workers' League of Rumiatzi. The league became professional in 527 and was renamed the Rumiatzi Football League; Athletic Rumiatzi competed there until it was folded into the new Capital Region Elite League in 612. In 624, Athletic were part of the group that split from the CREL to form the Rumiatzi Football Union, which they won twice.
Athletic Club Rumiatzi were founding members of the Astograthian Football League in 634, and have competed in a majority of the First Division's seasons. While the League was dissolved between 662 and 673, Athletic once again took part in the Capital Region Elite League, winning the 672 edition. Since the 674 relaunch of the Football League, Athletic have struggled to consolidate themselves in the top flight, with six promotions and six relegations over 15 years.
The club traditionally wear a striped blue and white shirt with blue shorts and stockings as their home colours. They have played at their home ground, the 42,000-capacity Gotorlekua, since 505. The ground, built in 513, was originally named after Duke Eusko V of Rumiatzi. It acquired the nickname "Gotorlekua" (Astograthian for "the Fort") due to its reputation as a difficult away fixture, and was officially renamed in 555, on the club's 50th anniversary. Gotorlekua at one point accommodated more than 80 thousand people; the title-deciding match against Royal Rumiatzi on 21 May 542 was attended by 88,180 spectators, a record for a match held in Rumiatzi until the first Royal Cup final of 634, which inaugurated the new Grand Duke's Stadium. It remains the city record for a league match.
Athletic's rivalry with Royal Rumiatzi, with whom they play the Rumiatzi Derby, is historically one of the most important in Astograth. Given the two clubs' disparate fortunes since the formation of the Astograthian Football League, however, the fixture has become increasingly one-sided in Royal Rumiatzi's favour. Other notable rivals of the club include South Factory, East Railway, and Astograth University.
Internationally, Athletic Rumiatzi have competed four times in the preliminary rounds of the UICA Globe Cup.
