A scorinator is computer software used for generating scores for the various competitions used in NationStates Sports.

A scorinator works by inputting team names (or competitor names in case of events that do not feature teams, such as athletics), style modifiers, and RP bonuses, as well as event organization details (such as whether or not teams play in a round-robin format, for example) and round-robin groups. A mass start or individual matchdays are then generated via the algorithm(s) used by the scorinator program or formula.

Scorinators vary by size and scope, but common scorinators include:

  • ApoxBa11er for first-class cricket
  • NSFootySim (NSFS) for association football, gridiron football, and baseball
  • xkoranate for most athletic disciplines, chess, and esports
