Damukuni, officially The United Interplanetary States of Damukuni, is a large, developed country located in northern Esportiva and in equatorial Sonnel. In Esportiva, it shares a land border with Boring Paradise to the northwest, New North Aqmuland to the north, the Hinodejin Empire to the northeast, Tumbra to the east, and a marine border with Filindostan; in Sonnel, it shares land borders with Nicerford to the north and west, and Aeryngale to the east.
Damukuni is a federal republic and a representative democracy consisting of 22 states and a federal district. Fifteen of those states and the Federal District are within the Aqmu Peninsula land mass, five states are on the planet Sonnel, connected by an interdimensional portal, and Islana Lunigo is an island east of the nation of Coldfield. It is a member of the World Assembly (of which it served as the regional delegate for Esportiva from 2036 to 2046), the Esportivan Union, and the South Esportiva Treaty Organization (SETO).
A highly developed country, Damukuni ranks high in political, religious, and economic freedoms, although discrepancies in civil rights rankings exist, primarily over the issues of LGBTQ+ rights and abortion, the latter of which is illegal at the federal level since the nation's founding in 2014; alternative sexual and gender identities, while not illegal, are not culturally acceptable.

Data transmission
Damukuni's three largest telecommunications companies, Supercel, Damutel, and DKI Telecom, together own the largest network of fiber-optic data transmission lines in Esportiva. Of these, Supercel owns about 63%. Additionally, all three companies' 5G cellular communications networks cover about 97.3% of the mainland in Esportiva.
As of 2050, Damutel is the only cellular provider available in Islana Lunigo.
In the Sonnel States, the three companies' cellular towers cover roughly 57% of the land area, but about 90% of the population.

Mass media
Damukuni has three major terrestrial broadcasters: the Damukuni Broadcasting Corporation (DBC), the Damukuni Broadcasting System (DBS), and the National Broadcasting Corporation of Damukuni (NBC Damukuni). The next two largest networks, DAX (owned by DAXSun Networks, of which 50% stake is owned by Sun TV in Tumbra) and DJTV, also have sizable market share, but is not as established as the other three. All of the major networks are corporate entities; the official government television broadcasting group, the Damukunian Public Broadcasting System (DPB), is approved by DASTA for nonprofit use only. Additionally, Damukunian radio, also mostly commercial, is listened to by roughly 28% of the population, as of the 2040 Survey on the Use and Care of Mass Media.
