History
The RNL was initially founded as an amateur league and was the first truly national league in Roosian football. The competition initially featured 10 teams, competing in a double round robin, followed by a 4-team playoff series. The state league winners and the lowest team from each state in the NL entered playoffs for relegation and promotion. It was joined in 1931, when 4 of the bigger teams defected to the StrayaRoos Soccer League, and were joined by 10 other sides. The two competitions ran in parallel for 39 years, until the 1970 season, where the StrayaRoos Football League was founded, and displaced the RNL and SSL as the premier divisions, putting the RNL as the 5th tier, while the SSL disbanded.
