Royal Ibarbe Sporting Club (Astograthian: Zeladiaklub Errege Ibarbe [s̪elˈaðjaklub eˈrege iˈbaɾbe]), commonly known as Royal Ibarbe, is a professional football club based in Ibarbe, Astograth.
The club was founded on 5 April (8 Uholdetsu) 488 as the Polo Club of Ibarbe, and gradually expanded its activities into multiple sports. The football branch is considered to have been established on Astograthian New Year's Day of 500, when the first match was organised at the club. In 503, the club took part in the inaugural Consular Cup in Ituraitz, the first cup competition in Astograth. Ibarbe Polo Club's football team were admitted to the Rumiatzi League in 539, turning professional in the process. In 612 they joined the Capital Region Elite League, and sided with the Rumiatzi Football Union after the 623-24 schism. The club were founding members of the Astograthian Football League in 634, initially competing in the Second Division. They first won promotion to the First Division in 636, but struggled to remain in the top flight in the following decades. Ibarbe Polo Club changed its name to the Royal Ibarbe Sporting Club in 652, after requesting and receiving patronage from the reigning Astograthian monarch, Grand Duke Lastur. Royal Ibarbe have played continuously in the First Division since 677, becoming an established mid-table side over the 680s.
Royal Ibarbe have traditionally worn purple shirts and yellow shorts as their home colours, and have played at the 19,000-capacity Erda Street since its construction in 566. Their traditional rivals are Ibarbe Sport and Ibarbe Youth; a rivalry with Athletic Club Olarria has developed more recently, owing to both clubs' competitive ambitions. Royal Ibarbe's most significant domestic honour is the Royal Cup, which they won for the first time in 688 against Sporting Iturributa. Internationally, they have competed once in the Cup Winners' Cup and seven times in the UICA Series B Champions’ Cup; their best result was reaching the semifinals of SBCC 41, which they lost to eventual champions SK Aasiaat Harbour.
