The Saltstead national football team (Saltsteadish: Såutsteids näsjonal votballsplug) is the representative team of Saltstead in international association football. Known domestically as De Näsjonal Elven ("The National Eleven") and internationally as De Hegsten ("The Stallions"), the team falls under the jurisdiction of the Royal Saltsteadish Football Association (KSVB), the governing body for Saltsteadish football.

The team primarily contest the World Cup and CAFA Cup, which alternate annually. Saltstead first played a World Cup Committee-sanctioned international in the 65th Baptism of Fire, which the team won after defeating Aggrey-Fynn Land 3–2 in the final, and made their début appearance in the World Cup finals in the 81st edition after defeating Drawkland in a qualifying playoff.

Kits and crest

When at home, Saltstead traditionally play in red-and-black hoops, a colour scheme modelled off the royal colours of Saltstead, with black shorts and red socks. The colour scheme of away kits have been less consistent, though they have always included white; currently, Saltstead use white shirts with blue shorts and white socks away from home, a scheme modelled on the Saltsteadish Tricolour.

As of AOCAF Cup LXI, Saltstead use a crest based on the shield of the Saltsteadish royal coat of arms, a reference to the national association's royal patronage. Above the crest is a single red star, representing Saltstead's Baptism of Fire victory. Before AOCAF LXI, the KSFB and national team used a more complex crest more closely based on the royal coat of arms.

Home stadium

Saltstead play most home matches at King William VII National Park (Saltsteadish: Näsjonalpark König Wilheum VII) in the capital Ashwell, though matches were temporarily relocated to and Meerpark in Port Michael and the Park der Fründens in Cersehorst while the national stadium underwent renovations.

Media coverage

All Saltstead matches are broadcast with full commentary on the national Saltsteadish Television Network.
