The Wasserball Liga is the top-tier national water polo league of Calgasia. It represents the highest level of competitive club water polo in the country and is organised under the authority of the Calgasian swimming and aquatic sports federation. It is considered, along with the Ice Hockey EisLiga, the second most followed competition in Calgasia.

Overview

The Wasserball Liga functions as the premier championship for Calgasian water polo. Clubs compete in a regular season format, with promotion and relegation links to lower-tier regional and national divisions. The league has played a central role in the development of water polo in Calgasia and in the identification of players for the national teams.

Competition Structure

The Wasserball Liga operates as the first division of a multi-tier league system. Below the top division, clubs compete in:

  • Wasserball Liga 2
  • Eastern League
  • Western League

Promotion and relegation between divisions are determined by seasonal standings and federation regulations.
