Water polo at the 11th Summer Olympics

Water polo at the 11th Summer Olympics was played at the Aeropag Natatorium. Vekaiyu won the gold in the women's tournament while Kelssek emerged as champions in the men's tournament.

Qualification

Teams were allocated to one of three qualifying events, with top two teams of each group of four qualifying for the Olympics.

• Water Polo Olympic Test Event, Aeropag, Paripana
• Goose Bay Water Polo Qualifiers, Goose Bay, Royal Kingdom of Québec
• Vekaiyun Olympic Water Polo Qualifying Event, Eldura/Provinsk/Calesu/Soveri, Vekaiyu

Nations in Atlantian Oceania were allocated to the Goose Bay event and teams in the East Pacific were allocated to the Vekaiyu event. The Paripana Sporting COuncil automatically qualified as hosts, and defending Olympic champions Vekaiyu automatically qualified for the men's event. The defending women's Olympic champions did not enter a team.
