The 10th Winter Olympics, formally called the X Olympic Winter Games, was an international multi-sport event held in Baseton, Republic of Amalotopia, part of the Holy Republican Empire. A total of 57 delegations took part including five combined delegations, with 75 national Olympic committees represented. Major aspects of the Baseton Olympics, including the construction of several venues, were funded by the Church of Saintland.
The overtly religious content of the opening ceremony raised several eyebrows, and was apparently sabotaged by a cyberattack by a group known as Feministvs Sanctvsterra. The Electrum and Gregoryisgodistan delegations were audibly booed by local spectators during the parade of nations. Media in several countries criticized the ceremony for being excessively nationalistic, with some highlighting a negative reaction by their athletes.
